Tiny Mammoth is a venture collective. We build products that use new and overlooked technology to bring people together in real life.
Most AI products make one person more productive. We are more interested in what happens between two people. Our products use AI as a quiet go-between: it handles the awkward logistics of reaching out, finding a moment, or making an introduction, and then it steps aside so the humans can talk.
We are not a studio for hire and we do not run an accelerator. We build and operate our own products, usually starting from an old and unglamorous channel, like a phone call or a text message, and asking what it could do with a little intelligence behind it.
Both are about the same problem from different angles: the people you most want to talk to are the ones you keep meaning to catch up with.
Let's just talk when we're both free.
A calling service for staying in touch without scheduling. Add the people you want to talk to, switch Talkmode on when you are open to a call, and it connects you only when the other person is open too. No calendar invites, no video links, no texting back and forth to find a time.
A private backchannel for verified industry leaders.
A curated network for founders and VP+ leaders to talk off the record about deals, hires, boards, and offers. Every member gets a personal AI concierge that works over SMS, so there is no app to download, no directory to be found in, and no outreach unless something is actually relevant to you.
Goodtalk turned group text messages into public broadcasts. Public figures and celebrities could hold a group text among themselves, and anyone could be a fly on the wall, watching the conversation unfold in real time without being able to interrupt it. It was built to give public figures a place for candid conversation, free of the trolling and noise of mainstream platforms.
It worked a lot like what Clubhouse later popularized for live audio, except it ran entirely over SMS and group texting, years earlier. Its biggest moment came during the February 2019 Super Bowl, when five active NFL quarterbacks held an exclusive group text on the platform that drew more than half a million live viewers.
Our founders pitched the concept on the startup podcast The Pitch, and Goodtalk went on to reach a total audience of roughly two million people in under a year. It proved something we still build on today: the appetite for real, unfiltered conversation is enormous, and the channels people already use every day, text and voice, are the right place to put it. Goodtalk wrapped up at the end of 2019. Talkmode and Backchannel are what we built with what we learned.
Tiny Mammoth is led by two founders who have each spent their careers building and scaling technology companies, one on the business side of advertising technology and one on the engineering side of consumer and web3 platforms.
Brings more than two decades of experience building and scaling technology companies through successive waves of digital advertising, from paid search and programmatic media to today's AI-driven ecosystem. Across these roles, he helped bring new products to market, scale revenue organizations, and navigate multiple successful AdTech exits.
A former engineering leader at Snapchat who went on to build Metaplex, the web3 protocol used by more than half of all crypto tokens and NFTs. Has spent a career shipping consumer products at massive scale and designing open infrastructure that other builders depend on.
We read every note and reply to the ones we can help with. No promises, but we'll try.
